The Event:

Wichita, Kan. Friends University will present the musical, Little Women, Friday, Nov. 19 through Sunday, Nov. 21, 2021. Based on Louisa May Alcotts classic book, Little Women has been expertly adapted for the stage and song. The story centers around four adventurous sisters- Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March - as they grow up in Civil War America. It is a captivating story of family, heartache, hope and love brought to life through music by Jason Howland. The production will include a live orchestra composed of Friends University music students, faculty and outside guests. Rolaine Hetheringon, assistant professor of voice, will serve as the Musical Director and Sheldon Mba, assistant professor of music theatre & dance, is the Stage Director and Choreographer. Just like the March family, we must learn to let go. The only thing we have control over when disaster strikes or heartache ensues, is how we choose to pick up the pieces and move forward, said Mba. Im excited to explore and create with this cast and crew and I hope you all will join us on this heartwarming adventure! The performance will take place Nov. 19-20 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 21, at 2 p.m. in Sebits Auditorium in the Riney Fine Arts building on the Friends University campus at 2100 W. University Ave., Wichita, Kan. Tickets are $16 for adults and $12 for seniors and students. They may be purchased online at or by calling the Fine Arts Box Office at 316-295-5677. Little Women is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. Friends University, a Christian University of Quaker heritage, equips students to honor God and serve others by integrating their intellectual, spiritual and professional lives.
